7 day fitness challenge

7 day fitness challenge!

Are you a busy mom who is having a hard time getting your workouts in?  Are you bored with home workouts?  Just need a little motivation to keep moving?  This 7 day fitness challenge will get you moving and sweating with short, effective home workouts. The only equipment you will need are some various weighted dumbbells!

The best part about this?

I’ve teamed up with two of my favorite instagrammers, Tracy Pendergast (guys, she’s an awesome blogger!) and Ashwood West, which sells some pretty fabulous athletic gear!  You may have noticed that I’m a bit of a Fabletics junkie, but I’ve started wearing some of the sports bras from Ashwood West and let me tell you, they are comfortable, stylish and high quality.  And guess what? Ashwood West is giving away one of their White Mesh Sports Bras (you have to follow us on Instagram to win, but I’ll post more details here in a few days).

Tracy is going to be doing this challenge with you and sharing her experiences over on her blog, so make sure to check that out!

Are you struggling to get your workouts in?

I want you to honestly tell me what holds you back from getting your workouts in.  (Tell me in the comments, through my Contact Me Page, or on social media…I’m always listening!)  For me, it’s often time constraints (Massimo is a notoriously bad napper, and I work as a CPA in addition to running this website).  But it’s also hard to find inspiration when working out from home.  I know that sometimes even I get bored, or don’t feel like taking the time to write up a workout.  I just want someone to TELL ME WHAT TO DO!

So for one week, that’s what I’m gonna do…I’m going to boss you around and make you work! 😉

And friend, I know all about the challenges of working out with a child. You’ll see in some of these videos I have to cope with a clingy (and sometimes fussy) child.  And that’s also why these videos are short- let’s get it done so that we can give our little ones our full attention.

Nutrition and Fitness

I want you to eat healthy during this upcoming week.  Vibrant health isn’t just achieved through working out- you need to eat right, too.    I’ve been posting lots of nutrition information and recipes lately, such as:

Here are some more tips for you to get the most out your healthy week:

  • Drink lots of water, and cut out sodas, juices, etc.  If you drink coffee with cream and sugar, try to limit that to one cup per day and try green tea or black coffee if you need an extra cup of caffeine.
  • Avoid sugar this week!  It’s tough, but we can do this for one week!
  • High calorie meals:  Limit eating out to once or twice this week.  Don’t go overboard and order extremely high calorie meals (meals with heavy sauces, tons of sugar, etc).
  • Get plenty of rest!  If you aren’t exercising regularly then these workouts might make you very sore.  Get extra sleep if possible (I know, it can be tough!) to help your body recover.

The Workouts:  (remember to check with your doctor before beginning any exercise program and stop if anything causes pain.  Modify if needed and listen to your body!)
